Blog 8

Blog Ocho

1.) In a struggling economy how do you start a business and maintain it? (still tweaking)

2.)
  • maintain a certain goal stick to it get all the little things out of the way
3.) Most sources have helped plentiful. They all really state the same answer but specify in different areas. So having a good knowledge of what your EQ really is and having the right answer really helps.

4.) Amanda Mendoza is one of my mentors that I've spoken to as of late she really knows what to do in certain situations. when someone asks her to get something done it's done.

Blog 7 Independent Component 1 Approval

What I am doing for my senior project competent 1 is a suggestion my mentor gave to me about starting a small little business. Something I can get done while also getting paid and giving me the sense of idea on how difficult it is to do. So as of now i have started my own business going to various different businesses and asking if they have any extra loads of flyers that they would like to pass out and sure enough they do. I charge a small amount and get right on to it with passing them out. The hard part this component is showing that I challenged myself to get up at 3 am and start right there and then. Which will show my time management preparation and other elements to becoming a future business owner.

Blog 4 Interview

1.  Who do you plan to interview?  Why?
I plan on interviewing my soon-to-be mentor Araceli Mendez. Since mt topic has to do with how you start a busines from the ground up. She has done this and is making her living off of that.

2.  You have to ask 5 questions.  What additional questions do you plan to ask?
-How did you come about to start your business?
-Starting off where there times where you thought this wasn't possible to accomplish?
-When it comes to funds does all of your income come from your income? If so does it apply to the whole family?
-What are some sacrifices that you had to make to be where you are today?
-Does this in any way, as in your buisness, affect your family's life?

Blog 3: Topic Choice and Semester 1 ESLR Goals

1.) Running/starting a successful business

2.)
  • To improve my skills on being an effective learner while working on my topic is quite challenging yet easy to do at the same time. I would have to listen to everything my mentor says and does and observe how to create her ways and make them my own.
  • To become a more effective communicator is rather easy. While doing my hours I had the chance to talk to many different customers and ask why they chose to come so often. Which really helped me being able to talk to others with confidence. I only hope to grow upon this.
  • To improve my skills in using technology I would create power points and such when presenting or while doing hours if customers want something new I will show a slideshow of her work and ask if they would like anything new.
  • To become a better I-poly citizen is harder for me since I'm not really comfortable leaving my social group but am able to talk to others naturally I only hope to improve my social awkwardness at times and make others time here as fun as mine.

Senior Mentorship Component

2.) Araceli Mendez 1 (909) 5910096

3.) Did I chose the right place to do my hours? Is this going to help me in the future?

4.) To run a successful business you need to be there all the time and to focus on your work before hand.

5.) My mentor ship didn't help me necessarily choose my topic, because I had already decided my senior project topic before I started the mentor ship. More like gave me a road to follow to get things done.

4)I have not yet chosen a topic for my senior project yet because I do not know not only where i will intern but what i am really interested in is doing a topic that involves sports.
